Well, it's all going on right now, The World Cup, Wimbledon and preparations for Brighton Dance Diversion 2010.
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and looking forward to the end of term when freedom, fun and fancy footwork become your lessons.
So what have we got planned I hear you shout!
Well sing it loud and sing it proud we have our first 'Sister Act' West End Workshop with West End Star Jennie Dale. Jennie will also be leading the professionals and demi - professionals through tips and skills needed for auditions.
We have also invited Becky Scarrot to work with the professionals on the hot classic 'Cabaret' which has toured nationally.
Louise King will hopefully be stopping by after her world tour of Mamma Mia to deliver another West End Workshop for you all. Not only is she assistant choreographer on Flash Dance but We Will Rock You and Saturday Night Fever in Germany! So you can choose which dances you would like to learn and let me know.
The bdd faculty have all been busy this year and are now gearing up to teach you what they've been experiencing. Sophie Brown and myself have been touring 'Trespass' with StopGAP at home and abroad and are just about to start performing their outdoor work 'Tracking' at all the festivals. Dan Watson has been touring with 'Stan won't Dance' performing 'Babel'. Helen Gould has been busy working with Ludos Dance in Lancaster. We are also very excited to be working with Vikkie Steege who is busy taking over the UK with her Hip Hop collective T21.
So there it is, and here it nearly is a tightly packed rollercoaster ride of theatre, dance and creativity. Scream if you want to go faster
You can also check the new bdd YouTube channel. Check it out to find videos of last year's performance!
And as if that wasn't enough, we've also got a Facebook group, to let you all keep in touch between summer schools. Just search for "Brighton Dance Diversion" on Facebook, and request to join the group!
